Family Day and GAD Activity 2023

Family Day with Gender and Development Activity was celebrated by the CapSU Pontevedra Family in October 11, 2023. It was a fun-filled day and a time off to spent on relaxing and enjoying and being away from the routinary works of the Faculty and Staff.

Gender and Development Office penetrates an orientation with the theme: "Empowering the Best Educators and Staff, Navigating Challenges, and Shaping the Future."

The activity putting a focus on the value of gender sensitivity and challenging social restrictions against gender-based prejudice and social construction. Faculty and Staff of the College of Management took part in the aforementioned event that was held at CapSU-Pontevedra gymnasium on October 11. Ms. Caressa Lynn A. Siglos, the resource speaker, talked about gender sensitivity, which emphasizes the comprehension and awareness of socio-cultural elements underpinning gender-based discrimination. In an open forum, the subject had been enlarged, bringing up the issues and questions related to gender sensitivity. The resource speaker addressed it by offering suggestions on how to get past the difficulties the topic faced.

"It is not only sex that counts, it is also the gender." One of the striking phrases she said while explaining her issue also struck a chord with her audience.

The flow of activity that day was good. The talk evolved into an open discussion about the school's problems as well as the policies and practices in place. The resource speaker individually clarified and answered each of the questions that were offered so that the audience could better grasp the varied concerns. The resource speaker also offered advice on how to strengthen institutional processes that address gender sensitivity in order to make such activity more relevant.

Furthermore, the talk was incredibly knowledgeable as how the speaker persuaded her audience to pay attention and comprehend each word and facts that she highlighted during her speech. The speaker was also very open and did accept each individuals’ concerns nor jurisdiction towards the aforementioned subject matter. Nevertheless, those teachers  who stayed and listened to her was certain that the speaker herself  has indeed a major concern about this Gen-z’s core topic.
